A website built for a tattoo artist to display his work and promote his business
Christopher Stubbs is a tattoo artist who has worked under several different names; this website was published for his identity when he was first getting started. Chris does very detailed, beautiful, artistic tattoo work. While this site is no longer active, we have archived it for our portfolio.
Christopher needed a way to show his work to the world and promote his business so that potential customers could get an idea of his capabilities and style. This was the first website he had commissioned for his business.
As a designer himself, Christopher had a very specific look in mind for the site, in fact, he came up with the look and feel and all of the imagery for the site. we took Chris' vision, design sense, and the bits and pieces that he created to built the code behind the imagery to make it all work.
Christopher's site reflects his tattoo aesthetic perfectly. Inspired by and often using vintage illustrations from science journals, biology texts, etc. he weaves these elements together to create something entirely new and unique.
Cerebral Vortex was built as a static html site featuring lightbox galleries for the tattoo images. We managed the website updates, domain, and hosting for Christopher while he provided the imagery updates as needed. This site is now archived as he is no longer practicing under this name.
This website gave Chris' work a home on the web and a place to point people to when they asked "What do you do?" or "Do you have examples of your work?" Working with Christopher on this website was a true pleasure. His vision and design sense are a wonder to behold, and he was easy to collaborate with.
