A home on the web that actually looks like you.
Most personal websites and small business sites fall into one of two categories: the template that looks like everyone else's template, or the expensive custom build that took six months and still isn't quite right. There's a better middle ground.
We help individuals, artists, and small businesses build a web presence that's actually theirs — the right platform for your needs, set up correctly, with a visual identity to match. Technology handled by Jake. Design led by Maura.
Maura Cluthe — Design
Professional illustrator and art director with over thirty years of experience, including more than two decades at Hallmark and a current role as Associate Professor and Charlie Sosland Chair of Illustration at the Kansas City Art Institute. When she's working on your brand, you're getting a real designer with serious credentials.
Jake Fowler — Development
Twenty-plus years building and managing technology for organizations that couldn't afford to get it wrong. Self-taught in most of it, which means he actually understands how things work rather than just following a manual. Writes real code, speaks plain English, and won't make you feel bad for not knowing what DNS is.
Rosie & Gus — Moral Support
Two very good dogs who take their jobs seriously. Rosie handles quality control. Gus handles snacks. Neither has opposable thumbs, but both are available for video calls if you need to see a friendly face.
Whether you need a simple portfolio site, a full brand identity, or just someone to finally make your existing site work the way it should, we handle the whole thing — design, build, domain, hosting, and everything in between.
We're platform-agnostic. Whether you're already on Squarespace, WordPress, Google Sites, Micro.blog, or something else entirely, we can work with what you have — or help you figure out what makes the most sense for your needs. We don't have a preferred platform we're trying to sell you on. We have a preferred outcome: something that works, looks right, and that you can actually manage yourself.

Domain & hosting setup
The unsexy stuff that Jake handles so Maura doesn't have to.
Most people's online presence is scattered across platforms they don't own — an Instagram that can change its algorithm overnight, a LinkedIn that buries your posts, a social media account that disappears if the company does. We think there's a better way.
We believe in the indie web: the idea that your website should belong to you, live on your domain, and represent you on your own terms. We can help you build that — or connect what you already have so it all points back to something you own.
Own your domain
Your name, your address, your rules. Not a subdomain on someone else's platform.
Get off the algorithm
RSS, email lists, and direct connections — ways to reach people that don't depend on a feed you don't control.
Connect to the wider web
Webmentions, syndication, IndieWeb standards — your site can talk to the rest of the web without going through a gatekeeper.
Built to last
Platforms come and go. A well-built site on your own domain doesn't disappear when a company pivots or gets acquired.
You own your content
Everything you post on social media belongs to that platform. Everything on your own site belongs to you — forever.
Start simple, grow over time
You don't need to do everything at once. A good domain and a solid site is enough to start. We can help you build from there.
Artists, freelancers, small businesses, and nonprofits who need a web presence that looks intentional — not like it was thrown together on a free trial. If any of these sound familiar, let's talk:
The embarrassing site
You have a website but you're not sending people to it because you're not proud of it.
No site at all
You've been meaning to build one for years and it keeps not happening.
The template problem
You built something yourself and it looks like everyone else's website.
No brand consistency
Your logo, your site, your cards, and your social profiles all look like they're from different companies.
The tech headache
You have a designer but nobody to handle the domain, hosting, and everything that makes it actually work.
Starting fresh
New business, new project, or new direction — and you want to get the brand right from the start.
